How it works
What is OscillaMind?
A sound app for evenings, nights, mornings and moments in between. You build routines from tones, beats and nature sounds, shape your own mixes in Sound Lab, or pick a Moment for right now. It is a wellness app for exploring your listening preferences, not a medical one.
When can I get it, and on which phones?
OscillaMind isn’t released yet. It is coming to Android phones first, in the United States and in English, with iPhone after that. This site will link to the store as soon as it’s out.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No account. The sounds are made on your phone or stored in the app, so they play without a connection. Buying or restoring the purchase needs your app store, which needs a connection.
What will a sound do for me?
We describe sounds, not outcomes. People hear sound differently, and the evidence for many popular sound claims is thin. Every Frequency Library entry carries a label (Research Supported, Emerging / Mixed or Traditional / Unproven) so you can see how strong the evidence is. If you have a health concern, talk to a doctor.
Headphones and the speaker
Do I need headphones?
Only for binaural beats, which play a slightly different tone in each ear and need stereo headphones. Everything else plays on the phone speaker. On the speaker, OscillaMind plays beats as pulsing tones instead, and says so on screen.
What happens if my headphones disconnect?
The sound fades out and pauses, so it never jumps to the speaker unexpectedly. If you’d like it to continue on the speaker, you can turn that on in settings.
Can I play OscillaMind alongside my music?
Yes, with Music Companion: OscillaMind keeps its sound under whatever you’re already listening to, and your music keeps its own controls. Some music apps pause when another app plays sound, so it won’t work with every one.
Alarms and Gentle Wake
How does Gentle Wake work?
Sound rises slowly over 15 to 30 minutes before your alarm time, and then the alarm rings. You choose the time and the sound, or turn the rise off and keep just the alarm.
How do I know my wake-up will ring?
Daily Rhythms always shows its status, such as “Gentle Wake ready · 6:15–6:45”. If something on your phone would block it, like a missing permission or Do Not Disturb, the status says so and offers a button to fix it. Phone settings and battery savers can stop any app, so OscillaMind checks for them and tells you plainly.
Will my alarm stop when the free trial ends?
Not without warning. An alarm that is already scheduled still rings. The app tells you ahead of time which morning is the last one with a wake-up, and nothing you saved is deleted. See Pricing for the details.
Buying and restoring
How much does it cost?
30 days free, then a one-time $2.99 purchase. No subscription. No ads. After the 30 days we add 7 more so you can decide.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Sign in to the same app store account, open OscillaMind and choose Restore purchase. The purchase belongs to your store account; there is no OscillaMind account.
Can I move my history to a new phone?
Yes. Export your data as a file from the app’s settings and import it on the new phone.
How do refunds work?
Your app store handles payments and refunds under its own terms. If a refund goes through, the app tells you what keeps working and until when, and nothing you saved is deleted.
Listening safety
How loud should I listen?
Quietly. OscillaMind starts at a low volume and keeps a limiter on every sound. Keep it at a level where you could still hear someone speak, and take breaks during long sessions.
Is it safe to sleep with earbuds in?
Many people prefer the phone speaker or soft sleep headphones at night. If you use earbuds, keep the volume low and choose a fit that doesn’t press on your ears.
Are any frequencies unsafe?
OscillaMind only plays within set ranges: tones from 40 to 12,000 Hz, beat carriers from 100 to 1,000 Hz, and no sound above the range people can hear. Every change in level or pitch is smoothed, so nothing clicks or jumps.
